Design Concept
The design of Shin began with a clear challenge: to create a completely minimal, white environment in which the women’s shoes could become the sole visual focus of the space.
The concept emerged directly from the product itself. Shin, meaning the front part of the lower leg, became the starting point of the design language — exploring the connection between straight and curved lines, inspired by the continuous transition from the shin to the heel and eventually to the sole of the foot.
This initial idea gradually evolved into a parametric architectural language. Lines move through the space, extend across surfaces, and connect architecture, lighting, and product display into a single visual system.
The interior is intentionally open and functional, creating a direct and effortless relationship between the customer and the products. The architecture remains understated, allowing the shoes to occupy the center of the experience.
Beyond the retail area, dedicated spaces were designed for staff comfort, along with a compact charging area for the shoes — integrating everyday operational needs into the overall design.
Personalization was at the heart of the client’s vision. Every detail was designed specifically for the brand, including the furniture, accessories, and handcrafted chandeliers. The lighting follows the same vocabulary of straight and curved lines, extending the architectural concept beyond the walls and into the atmosphere of the space.
The result is an interior where minimalism is defined through detail rather than decoration — a calm, white environment in which architecture steps back and allows the product and the identity of Shin to take the lead.
